Envirotech of Fairfield County Inc. will remediate your site no matter if we pull your tank or another company does. We are the underground oil tank specialists.

Envirotech accommodates both commercial as well as residential.

We provide on site testing by using our P.I.D. (photo ionizing device) meter. By using our P.I.D. meter, we can determine on site, the soil that is contaminated as compared soil that is Not contaminated. This way we can remove only toxic soil leaving the clean soil alone.

Envirotech of Fairfield County Inc. also uses a Connecticut State Licensed Laboratory for our soil samples. We begin by taking a soil sample(s) from a contaminated site and test the samples for ETPH (extractable total petroleum hydrocarbons). If the level of ETPH is above 500 ppm (parts per million), as to DEEP (department of energy and environmental protection), we will remediate the site.

We will then run a 8260 for a waste profile. What that means is that the contaminated soil must be tested for toxicity for the state. Once we have this done, Envirotech will transport the contaminated soil to a licensed disposal facility.

Envirotech has a line of equipment for digging up the toxic soil, trucks to move it to state approved facilities and suction trucks to suck up any liquids.

Envirotech uses their P.I.D. (photo ionizing device) meter to detect where the clean soil resides. Once clean samples are found, then we will run 5 soil samples, which are to the north, south, east and west of the dig site. One more sample will be taken from the grave area (the area under the where the tank was located). If all of the 5 samples come back clean (under 500 ppm), then we will begin the process of back filling the excavated area with clean soil.

Once the dig site is filled in to a rough grade, Envirotech will landscape the area upon the customers request.

After we are finished, our office will generate a “Closure Report”. We will give on to the homeowner, on to the local town hall (fire marshall) and one will be sent to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. This report will show that contamination has been cleaned to its fullest extent.

The Closure Report will include pictures, P.I.D. readings, laboratory results, daily on site records, soil disposal records and final soil samples.
